Tong Sui stall @ Kimberley Street (night)

This stretch of what used to be a very nice and quiet street, found fame immediately after a feature on 8tv's Hochiak programme.

While I do agree that this particular stall used to be good once upon a time, today one can find better tong sui with more ingredients in places like a mobile van that occasionally plies the Jelutong area at night to Butterworth's wai sek kai.
One order at the latter place, is equivalent to 8 bowls of ingredients here. That's how jarring the difference is and what makes us so pissed with the shortchanging bunch on the island.

They went downhill the instant their staff started wearing t-shirt uniforms.
In order to increase profits, the amount of beans inside are test tube sample sized pathetic, plus they even stinge on sugar.

To make matters worse every bowl now is corrupted by the lingering smell of dishwashing liquid.
Thus, you are basically drinking a ridiculous brew of Axion si koh thn'g,or Glo ang tou thn'g with kurang kurang kurang gula, garnished with a sprinkling of precious Jack n the beanstalk legumes.

The elbow space is not the only irritant, obnoxious non Penangites like to drag their miserable not-used-to-no-aircond-non-tong-sui-fan kids in tow, mixed with fake beggars who change the injured side of their 'broken'arm every night and haphazard triple parking.
The Nightmare on Kimberley street has now ballooned with more stalls trying to cash in on their 'fame',in the hope that you will be confused enough to end up at their place, not that it makes any difference.
In a nutshell you're just paying a high price for dishwashing remnant scrap crap.

I will deal with the other peeve of mine, the sky emperor chicken feet stall in another post after this.
