The Assassin @ Prima Tanjung

Update :
According to local gossip and hearsay amongst the business community in Fettes Park, the incident is connected to a Taiwanese.
A week before the shooting incident, their car and premises were splashed with red paint Ah Long style.
End of speculation.

-------------------------------------------------------

Tsk tsk...things are really heating up here in Fettes Park.
Not enough that the hitman was overpowered,he also didn't manage to dodge the bouncing bullets in time.
Super duper fail.

Having said that, you might think that it should be fairly easy to pin point exactly which shop is involved based on the clues given in this article
  1. It has no break shift and is open even past 3.30pm
  2. There is a clinic next door to it
But seeing that reporters these days do a good job of bungling the simplest reports, let's go through the list of all the restaurants in Prima Tanjung shall we? With a plausible reason why someone would want to hurt another over mere food.
  1. Old City Food Court -faced with almost no business yet stubbornly refuses to light up his signboard probably due to quack fengshui advice
  2. Sumida Japanese Restaurant -original Japanese owner Passed Away, leaving his Malaysian wife in charge...hmmmm
  3. Spring Cafe - a Borhochiak.blogspot nominee who has now jumped on the group discount bandwagon to pump up sales
  4. No Eyed Deer - opens past 3.30pm on a Saturday, and like no.3,has also resorted to bulk couponing
  5. Aji Noren
  6. Taipei Food Avenue
Did a quick reconnaisance, and found that out of all the outlets, only Spring Cafe stayed shut.
Sumida, the nearest to the said clinic was up and running.

So who is it?
Your guess is as good as mine.
Thus,if you're really curious,it's best for you to go check it out yourself.

Restaurant Owner's Son Stops Gunman In His Tracks
The Star, December 18th 2011

GEORGE TOWN: A young man suffered only light injuries despite grappling with a gunman who fired three shots during a struggle at a restaurant in the Prima Tanjong commercial complex in Tanjong Tokong.
The gunman had gone to the restaurant at about 3.30pm yesterday where the victim, 24, who is the son of the restaurant owner, was enjoying a meal with another customer.
Upon seeing the gunman with a revolver tucked in his waist, the son rushed towards to the gunman to prevent the latter from using his gun as panicked customers and workers ran outside the restaurant upon seeing the struggle.
The gunman managed to fire a shot, grazing the left side of the head of the restaurant owner’s son.
A second shot ricocheted off the floor before the gunman let off a third shot that grazed his own neck.
The gunman then dropped the gun and fled in a car.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said a Smith & Wesson revolver was recovered from the scene.
He added that the police had obtained leads on the identity of the suspected gunman.
“The injured son was treated at a clinic next to the restaurant for minor injuries,” he added.
A manhunt has been launched a search for the gunman, who is believed to be a hired assassin.
