Tripadvisor is a great way to know if you're getting a raw deal. Bad reviews are common,glowing ones too.

However the General Manager at this Berjaya however goes on a long winded veiled offensive against the customer. I think he is either on the end of his teethers or is facing a bleak future for him to react this way.

We usually start off by thanking Reviewer for their feedback whereby we try to improve from our shortcomings. In this case, I would have to echo Ms Kirsten Lau's assertion that it is a SCAM as they have left RM1,311 UNPAID (only 1 nights prepaid RM742) before quietly leaving despite being reminded about the outstanding!
# It is not true that towels were left for 3 days unchanged, It IS possible that face or hand towels have been short supplied. I would asked what Reviewer's friends used to dry themselves after a shower??
# We are unable to trace the request for chopstick or fork.
we sincerely regret the inconveniences to Ms Kirsten and friends. However, we would also ask Reviewer to kindly pay up the outstanding RM1,311 bill left unsettled.

As for the staff, we have a young team at the Front Desk and many of them are not local Penang people, which may explain why some are not familiar with certain local places. Our Bellmen however are generally better aware & informed on such matters. We do hope that by the time of Jakarta0's next trip, they will be better trained and more familiar to provide information to our guests.

Look at it this way,
in the second video,notice an ang moh was there.And he didn't do anything or come to his defence.Instead he just stood where he was,not lifting a finger to assist the moron.
Speaks volumes about the 'victim'.
I strained my ears trying to hear what the Chicken Provocateur was screaming at the top of his lungs but it was barely audible since he hadn't had his drumstick yet that day.
At a certain point it's as if he were straining to lay some eggs.


Bottomline is......he was plain rude,acted like a hysterical brat.
Next,the underpaid sweatshop working condition (now suspended)KFC louts,couldn't contain their anger.

Though this is an international franchise,in Malaysia their workers get measly lousy wages somewhere in the region of  USD1.33 per hour,and a useless tiny meal with an even tinier drink only after HOURS of labour put in.
I heard that Mc Donalds pays their part time workers even less...USD 1.28
Seeing that they are getting such pathetic salaries,it's no surprise they won't mind getting fired.
So don't be stupid and think you can get away with harassing such workers.They don't care two hoots if they lose their jobs.What's there for them to look forward to anyway?
You tell me honestly.
From what I understand,some of these crap operators are even contracting Indonesian full time staff and getting away with paying them $300 per month only.
This is so,so wrong.

Notwithstanding,fastfood outlet managers are constantly yelled at,and threatened by the big bosses to keep losses down and profits up,so much so that they tend to get paranoid about not having any wastage or expired stock at the end of the day.
Naturally it's the frontline that is forced to face the fury of the coupon and couponless crowd.

If you want to vent your anger,write nasty love letters to,pelt their HQ with tomatoes or hold placards outside to embarass and harass their management team these are the correct places to do it

How stupid,that some Chinese are actually boycotting Gardenia just because it's associated to that Al Bukhary fellow.
How silly that some Malays actually think that all Chinese are boycotting Gardenia and just eating Massimo or High 5 or Roti Benggali because they really want to support Massimo.
How childish that some want to inflame us by telling half truths,dictating that we should eat Massimo just because it belongs to the dethroned Sugar King.

I'll simplify how this story came to be,by retelling you tales based on what I heard through the grapevines.Thus what you're about to hear,has reached my ears,by first being sieved past many cochlea tunnels and the whole truth though unverified,is generally agreed upon by the general gossip mongering populace as to how this no bread-ner episode bloated into yeastsentially nonsensical proportions

• Robert Kuok the former sugar king and of course croony of Mahathir was forced to sell Chuping,the sugarcane land where he makes his moolah.
• Fed up he threw a tantrum,took up residence in China,gained the trust of the Chinese and embarked on an unpatriotic crusade.
• That culminated in a Malaysian palm oil snub when "someone" recommend that the Chinese shove it to a Malaysian delegation that China had enough supply,preferring them to get their supply of palm oil from Indonesia rather than Malaysia.That powerful a person this is.To be able to dictate China's choice.
• And MFM felt that brunt of that,ripe for a tit for tat session,since it was a company owned by him
• Not happy that his pocket was to be pinched further,he goes and incites the malaysian chinese press with yellow bonfire inflaming hotcake selling,outrage boiling,headers.
• Of all things Gardenia has to play along and cry victim when actually the nail was in the coffin from a long time ago probably cos they want to plead bail out ? ala Rapid style? or what other devious plans only their directors might know or probably would have devised.Which all leads to that fella residing in China being the blame guy,if ever Gardenia were to call it a day

Thus this is not a bread war but rather a tycoon's personal war waged against his former cash cow country due to his reasoning that any unfair corporate force overs are probably racially spurred.
And the so called 'victimised' bread company is fighting the wildfire with an itsy bitsy microwave to camouflage their dwindling sales figure.

Don't be mistaken if you NEVER see me eating Gardenia,it's because of 2 main reasons

1. I never liked the fact that this brand could last a whole 2 weeks without cultivating some form of fungus and
2. I prefer High 5 the brand that can get fungusy within one week

Who the heck eats Massimo huh?The packing is horrid and unattractively garish,and it looks like a tightly wrapped expensive small bread condom.

Honestly Gardenia,you're just wasting your time with these stupid refutes.
Just buck up,use less preservatives,more flour,increase the thickness of your bread slices,lower your prices and Malaysians of all colours and creed WILL ignore the war cries and support you once more.
After all,we know that HE'S not gonna line OUR pockets nor divide his fortune equally amongst his customers even if we support HIS brand right?

Cover Charged for Chinese Tea @ Penang restaurant

I was initially taken aback when I read this,but there are always two sides to the coin.
While it is easy to blame the restaurant for the unreasonable charge,I concluded that the tiff arose from the following

1. the fact that some establishments take great pride in the tea that they offer
2. that having a pot of chinese tea especially at lunchtime,would inspire unsavoury parasites or kutus to roost way longer than neccessary,thus effectively depriving others of dining space
3. the fact that they opened for business to make money,not for charity right?
4. even after being forewarned of the over the top charges, she still went ahead with her plan
5. that it is a "robbery" only if accompanied by violence, intimidation,force,fear or use of a weapon,all of which there were none.Thus it wasn't a robbery,but an outrageous condition from which she could have backed out of,but she chose not to most probably due to "ai bin"

So who to blame?
And why write in to complain to the newspapers when the outlet didn't act unscrupulously but informed her before hand.
Tsk.tsk.
Only this bitter diner knows.

I stopped at a restaurant in front of the Umno building for lunch while I was in Penang last week,and was taken aback when I was told I would be charged RM2/pax for bringing in my own tea.For my family of 10,we would have to pay RM20 for hot water supplied in a teapot.Isn't this blatant robbery?
They justified the charge in that the restaurant also sells tea and hence does not want outside tea to be brought in.
I was "fortunate" they told me upfront rather than me finding out on my bill later.Fair warning to those who enjoy your own tea-bring your own at your own peril.

Introducing Low Sai Ciplak Malaysian Cuisine to the World

How come we have to shove things that tourists obviously will hate down their throats?
I can tell you sure fire winners for dishes they love.

1. Penang rojak without the sauce (yea depressing)
2. Banana apom
3. Coconut water
4. And our raw fruits like jackfruit (they find this fascinating,its the name that is appealing)
5. Satay ( actually this was already promoted worldwide by the indons )

And that's about it.The rest is TOO oily,for westerners,yea,they can't even stomach less oily Penang dishes.
As for the Japs,they've always loved chinese food and roti canai.
Those from China are problematic,cos their foods are so tasteless and ours are too overflavoured for their liking.Their cousins from Hongkong are much better in terms that they really appreciate Malaysian food and we truly underestimate them,since they like to brag to the whole world in regards to their experience haing tasted our cuisine first hand here.
The Arabs head to Mc Donalds and KFC cos they don't trust our mamaks.
The Indons avoid our cuisine,stick to their own kind even if they are ethnic chinese,would rather eat Mi Sedaap in the confines of their hotel room than get adventurous here.
So?Besides Singaporeans that will overorder and bulldoze their way like eating machines,that makes westerners guinea pigs right? Oh blimey.

Am featuring a letter to the editor of The Star with regards to our tourism minister's decision to promote rendang,briyani and char koay teow.
I couldn't agree more with the writer that by taking on nasi briyani,we might end up slighting India.And yes,I do too agree that honestly,tourists have tasted better elsewhere since we have more awful versions of this dish than needed.South Indians simply CANNOT cook this dish.
It's the same case scenario as trying to find authentic Roti Boom( a creation of some enterprising Malay roti canai makers) in Penang (you did know the best is in Ampang near the International School didn't you?).One is doomed to end up facing dissapointment.

Coming to CKT,do we intend to turn them off or what? But then again,if you have been to Camden market in London and the appalling sight of what I call fake" Malaysian noodles"as well as "Singapore noodles" are marketed side by side to unsuspecting Brits,I shrug my shoulders and say what the hell.
What the hell,if they can't take the oil,nor the lard.
No wait....it's gotta be Halal right?That means we will practically be marketing the Malay version of CKT.
Now look,that's perfectly fine,but honestly,I can tell you,doesn't matter if it is the chinese version or malay one, the Angmoh's hate our oils.Their stomachs simply cannot take it.The oil is present in the noodle.You cannot take the oil out of koay teow or it will stick to the wok and be destroyed.
Imagine the publicity a mass low sai case would do for the country.
Throw a stone in Georgetown and it will instantly land on another perplexed,nose upturned tourist wrestling with our dishes(murtabak,mee goreng,ckt,I've seen it all),every now and then lifting it up for closer inspection like it were a soiled diaper.

Finally rendang.Big problemo! Just which rendang version are they gonna settle on? Rendang Tok that keeps well but is terribly sweet and dry?
 Wiki this one and I can turn fortune teller.The Indons are NOT gonna be pleased that we are about to hijack them again.
Also since the Minangkabau version in my opinion ,made from BUFFALO meat,is best,thus bound to be compromised and substituted by other meats,it simply means that what we're marketing won't be authentic but considered ciplak(photocopy) won't it?

Easier to "sell " satay than rendang

I CAN understand why char koay teow has been chosen as one the three so called iconic dishes to be promoted by the Tourism Ministry (“Three on top of the food chain” – The Star, Sept 23). But why nasi briyani and rendang?
Someone told me the best briyani is in Hydrabad, India (hopefully the Indians in India won’t accuse us of stealing their dish). Don’t tell me there is not a single truly Malaysian Indian dish to choose from.
If I’m not mistaken the great roti canai was the creation of a local genius. But still, briyani is not too bad a choice compared with rendang.
Granted that rendang is fantastic and is the favourite of many, but one does not eat rendang by itself. The foreigner can order char koay teow or briyani, and immediately consume it. But with rendang, one would at least
need a lemang to go with it.
And for most Malays, even rendang with a plate of rice is not complete; you need a gulai, a vegetable, and maybe a sambal before you can start eating.
Imagine, if a foreigner ordered only rendang, what would the waiter/waitress do? Serve him/her just a plate of rendang?
Why not choose the very famous satay. It is already a “brand”. It is easier to sell a “brand” than a new product, especially if the new product needs something else to accompany

Penang Assemblyman Looses His Ipad In A Police Station

This is so stupid,I just have to put it up.

The assemblyman involved is the same guy that always lends his support to  mudball throwing events in Gurney Drive.

Well what can one say except this...out of of all the places he could have picked to misplace his Ipad,he had to pick a police station.

My guess is... no civilian would want to swipe even a pen off a police counter.So that leaves us with....

Anyway,I do suppose a Police HQ would have cctvs installed,right?Right? So,its pretty simple and straightforward unless...

like if it were in the case of the policemen that were called to investigate a stolen good trader at Lorong Kulit who turned out to be one of the men in blue themselves(see accompanying article dated 21st august below),instead of wasting a minute more, Koay should have flung himself like head first straight into Lorong Kulit instead.

Then his chances of getting it back,would have been definitely much higher.

Please Return My Ipad,Pleads Pulau Tikus Rep

GEORGE TOWN: An assemblyman is keeping his fingers crossed that his iPad will be returned to him.
Pulau Tikus assemblyman Koay Teng Hai said there were important documents and information about his constituency stored in the tablet computer, which he left on the traffic counter of the George Town district police headquarters in Patani Road at about 3.55pm on Friday.
He lodged a police report the same day.
“I hope the tablet will be returned to me as it contains important documents related to my constituents,” he said here yesterday.
Koay said he had placed the iPad on the traffic counter while making enquiries about his traffic summonses.
He said he left the station immediately after settling his traffic summonses at the next counter.
“I only realised some eight minutes later that I had left my iPad at the counter.
“I then contacted one of my friends in the police but was told that the tablet was no longer there,” he said, adding that he could be contacted at 012-4279564.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said an investigation would be carried out, adding that police would probe the case under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
“We are also going through the names of those who have paid their summonses at the same time as Koay.
“Hopefully, that will give us some leads,” he said.

He also urged the public to be more mindful of their valuables and belongings.

Four Cops To Face Action Over Watch Theft

GEORGE TOWN: Police took fast action against four personnel over the theft of 117 watches worth RM50,000 from a shop in Campbell Street.
A 44-year-old lance corporal has been suspended with immediate effect pending investigation over his alleged involvement in selling some of the watches at a makeshift stall in Lorong Kulit here, said George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng.
Three other policemen, aged between 24 and 31, tasked to investigate the matter would also face disciplinary action.
ACP Gan said the three from the Datuk Keramat police station had allegedly tried to drag their feet in their investigations into the theft upon learning that the suspect was their colleague.
Police seized 42 stolen watches worth RM15,000 from the lance corporal in the 9.30am incident yesterday.
The suspect, who was off duty then, is attached to the Sungai Nibong police beat base.
ACP Gan said the case was being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for burglary.
“We will investigate whether he was the one who stole the watches or whether he was selling stolen items,” he said during a “Police Meet the Public” session at Tesco Hypermarket in Sungai Dua yesterday.
Watch shop owner Tan Chee Khew, 49, had earlier received information that the 117 watches that were stolen from his shop on June 27 were being sold at Lorong Kulit.
“I went there to check. I know the watches belonged to me after checking the codes and stickers on them.
“I then called the police, but to my dismay, the three policemen who arrived later apparently asked the suspect to pack and go away.
“It was then that I suspected something was amiss,” he said.
ACP Gan said there would be no cover-up in the case.
He said a 15-year-old and a 24-year-old man had been picked up to facilitate investigations into the theft.
The police are also looking for another man to assist in the probe.

First of all,I would like to start by saying that this is another non food post that actually warrants some two cents of my thoughts,since it caused 'certain' NGO's to BBQ the book while I was about to have some mum-mum.Appetite lost but whetted out of curiosity I found that I actually have a copy of a tourist trail printed by Arts Ed not the actual 12 page risalah itself.
I tried hard to find fault with the tourist trail brochure and reasoned that maybe it was due to overemphasis on The Others other than Their People.
Frustrated I headed to the net for some answers.There were some pretty nasty and inflammatory things said by The Certain People of A Certain Group that got Their Certain Netizens pretty worked up.
Not many netizens knew much about the publication too except for the fact that Some Certain People were painted as Hardworking and Some Other People were said to be Just Plain Lazing around.I am pretty sure I saw one village woman With Mixed Peoples Blood wheelchair bound but of course if you want to take that as an insult to The People group I belong to,I could,but most times My People don't resort to that do we?With The Exception of The DeeAyePee,The ParkCarTan,The Last EmSeeAye boss and Some Pretty Racist My Young People (the product of respective mother tongue schools)in our various YouNeedWorseCities

Then I stumbled upon the latest press statement by The Farid and thought it was pretty reasonable....FAR from the Debil Curry The Guan painted him out to be.

So what were the things that They were so angry about?
1. That Their People were not depicted as The Ones who opened up Balik Pulau.That a certain Lebai Tampak,Their Man,was not given any due recognition.
2. That Their People were wrongly depicted as descendants of political refugees from Thailand,the northern malay states as well as Indonesia
3. That Their People were reliant on The Moneylenders of Another People to finance Their Kids Huge Weddings.This they consider to be a huge insult directed upon their ancestors.

Next we go on to The Quarrel between The Farid and The Guan.Verdict?They both need some chill out time at the mamak stall.
From The Guan saying that The Farid had spit to the sky and The Spittum landed on The Farid face(meaning he made himself look like a fool) and the sponsor of the guilty mag is The Um No itself to The Farid retorting that The Guan also spit to the sky and The Guan also got The No Face cos now The Island has been under The Them Themselves.
Stupid.Both The Men are just plain stupid.

Now finally we come to The YouAskEm.All the heads of This Place are just out for The Funding so they have to come up with The Idea that can bring The Big Bucks so they can reap The Rewards and The Recognition,The Glory and maybe make The History too.
How?By Exploiting The Children Of The Island into performing for The Free.
Why?Cos every adult would find Them The Professors And The Lecturers At The YouAskEm boring.
So Some Clever Ones made use of cute enthusiastic,innocent children and is now saying that The Children were The Ones that got the first hand accounts from The Elders of Balik Pulau.That this is not historical.Gasp! Did The YouAskEm just wash Their Hands Off?Wow...Shift The Blame to The Children?That is So Adult.Thanks for teaching The Kids,You Big Bunch Of Apron Clutching Cowards.
I believe the whole Original Noble Intention about Arts Ed was to inculcate some sort of love towards our different cultures and heritage but In The End it turns out that The Printed Materials were distributed without prior Ministry of Education approval.Why the oversight?Why the hurry to distribute to schools?It's not as if those associated with the YouNeedWorseCities no nothing about rules and why they are put there in the first place.If They had submitted it to The Ministry instead of assuming that I'm A Respected Educationist therefore all will go well,They The Learned could have pointed their fingers at other adults.
Nah.I doubt that.

1. Risalah myBalik Pulau adalah sebuah risalah yang di terbitkan oleh arts-ED, sebuah Persatuan Pendidikan Seni Pulau Pinang. Ianya ditaja oleh Penang Education Council (PEC) dan Pejabat Kementerian Pelancungan Malaysia Pulau Pinang dan di bantu oleh beberapa individu dan organisasi lain.
2. Ianya diterbitkan pada tahun 2010 (seperti tercetak dimuka depan risalah), saya kira dipenghujung 2010, dan diedarkan kepada masyarakat di Balik Pulau sekitar bulan Januari 2011. Edaran tersebut dibuat dibeberapa tempat, antaranya Pusat Internet Desa, tempat orang ramai dan termasuklah disekolah-sekolah.
3. Saya telah mendapat aduan serta pertanyaan daripada ibubapa kepada pelajar sekolah tentang kebenaran fakta yang dinyatakan dalam risalah tersebut. Setelah membacanya, saya mendapati beberapa fakta sejarah adalah tidak tepat.
4. Saya telah menghubungi pihak Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah (PPD) dan dimaklumkan bahawa pihak PPD tidak pernah memberi sebarang kebenaran pengedaran risalah tersebut dikalangan para pelajar; dan Guru-Guru besar memaklumkan bahawa risalah tersebut telah ditinggalkan disekolah tanpa ada sepucuk surat makluman ataupun pertemuan dengan pihak sekolah.
5. Setelah membaca dan meneliti risalah berkenaan. Saya mendapati bahawa fakta sejarah sebenar pembukaan kawasan Balik Pulau oleh Lebai Tampak dan rombongannya tidak langsung disebut dalam risalah tersebut.
Nama Lebai Tampak yang membuka Balik Pulau adalah berdasarkan kepada kajian sejarah awal Pulau Pinang oleh Dr. Mahani, seorang pakar sejarah di USM. Yang dinyatakan didalam risalah myBalik Pulau, adalah bahawa Balik Pulau dibuka oleh ?pelarian? politik dari Thailand, Negeri-Negeri Melayu dibahagian Utara dan Indonesia.
Sebagai seorang terpelajar dan pensyarah di USM, Janet Pillai selaku ketua projek ini, sepatutnya dengan mudah boleh merujuk kepada rakan-rakan sejarahwan yang berada di USM, seperti Dr. Mahani dan Prof Mohamad Salleh.
Apakah negeri-negeri dibahagian utara? Kedah? Perlis?. Bukankah Pulau Pinang dulu adalah sebahagian daripada Kedah. Perlukah mereka menjadi pelarian dinegeri sendiri? Beberapa orang Melayu marah apabila disebut sebagai ?pelarian? kerana seolah-oleh mereka adalah keturunan pelarian.
6. Didalam penulisan juga disebut bahawa ?kaum melayu juga menggadaikan tanah mereka untuk mendapatkan wang tunai untuk membiayai upacara besar-besaran seperti majlis perkahwinan?. Selain tulisan, ianya juga digambarkan dalam bentuk gambar.
Dalam gambar disebut ? saya (orang Melayu) perlukan duit untuk kenduri kahwin anak saya?. Jadi, orang Melayu digambarkan sebagai kaum yang meminjam duit dari Chettiar dan bergolok gadai hanya untuk kenduri perkahwinan. Orang Melayu menganggap ayat tersebut juga merupakan satu penghinaan kepada nenek moyang mereka.
Perkara-perkara inilah yang mahu dan telah saya tegur. Penerbit harus sedar bahawa risalah tersebut adalah risalah bercetak dan diedarkan kepada orang ramai. Ianya dibaca oleh anak-anak sekolah. Apa sahaja yang dihidang kepada para pelajar akan kekal bersama mereka.
Apakah dengan menegur perkara sebegini dan membetulkan fakta sejarah menyebabkan saya rasis sepertimana yang dituduh oleh Lim Guan Eng?. Dan saya diminta untuk meminta maaf kepada Kerajaan Negeri? Saya tidak akan minta maaf.
Saya ingin merujuk kepada Kenyataan Akhbar Lim Guan Eng, secara khusus merujuk kepada akhbar Sinar :
1. Para kedua Akhbar Sinar ?Guan Eng berkata, risalah yang dicetak dalam tiga bahasa itu tidak dikeluarkan atau ditaja oleh kerajaan Negeri seperti dakwaan Farid sebaliknya dipercayai dikeluarkan oleh Kerajaan Negeri terdahulu.?
Muka belakang di cetak dengan jelas
1. Penerbit = arts-ed (Persatuan Pendidikan Seni)2. Tajaan = Penang Education Council (PEC) dan Berlogo Kerajaan Negeri3. Pejabat Kementerian Pelancungan Malaysia Pulau Pinang dan berlogo Kerajaan Persekutuan4. DIGI
Perkataan ?TAJAAN? menunjukkan bahawa naskah my Balik Pulau dibiayai oleh sebuah Majlis dibawah Kerajaan Negeri dan juga sebuah agensi dibawah Kementerian Pelancungan. Itu jelas. Saya sedar tentang keterlibatan kedua-dua agensi ini sejak dari awal lagi. (dan ianya juga turut disebutkan dalam tulisan akhbar Utusan).
Daripada YAB KM melenting, lebih baik beliau menyiasat, kenapa logo Kerajaan Negeri digunakan tanpa kebenaran beliau. Bahkan dalam beberapa sidang dewan yang lepas, kita pernah membangkit isu tentang pengunaan logo kerajaan negeri yang harus mendapat kebenaran Kerajaan Negeri.
Tetapi untuk menuduh bahawa naskah tersebut dikeluarkan oleh Kerajaan Negeri terdahulu adalah sesuatu yang sangat mengecewakan. Risalah itu dicetak pada tahun 2010, itu jelas dicetak diatas naskah itu. Semua orang boleh jawap pada tahun sudah (2010) siapa yang perintah Pulau Pinang!
Yang pasti bukan Barisan Nasional! Sebagai bukti tambahan, Pejabat Kemeterian Pelancungan Malaysia Pulau Pinang juga ditubuhkan pada pertengahan tahun 2010. Jadi ianya bukan dikeluarkan oleh kerajaan BN terdahulu.
2. Para 9 : ?Guan Eng berkata Kerajaan Negeri selama ini banyak bersabar dengan sikap rasis yang diamalkan oleh Farid, namun tindakannya kali ini sudah melampau kerana kerajaan negeri tiada kena mengena dengan risalah itu.?
Saya cukup tidak suka dengan perkataan ?rasis?. Sebab itu saya tidak mengunakan perkataan ?rasis? kepada sesiapa. YAB KM pula suka sangat menuduh orang ?rasis?.
Dalam para 5 juga disebut bahawa ?.?ADUN UMNO in sengaja mahu membangkitkan sentiment perkauman dan perasaan benci antara kaum, terutamanya di Balik Pulau?. Amat mudah bagi beliau untuk menuduh saya sebagai ?rasis?.
Saya telah menonton rakaman PC yang dibuat oleh KM Lim Guan Eng. Dia bermula dengan terus menuduh saya rasis, dan berulang kali mengatakan saya rasis. Adakah dia merujuk kepada risalah myBalik Pulau dan meneliti penulisan yang dibuat. Langsung tidak.
Saya nak tegaskan bahawa saya amat menghargai toleransi dan semangat muhibah sesama rakyat Malaysia dari dahulu hingga sekarang. Pembangunan dan kejayaan yang telah kita capai dan nikmati hari ini adalah hasil dari kerjasama semua rakyat Malaysia.
3. Lim Guan Eng mengatakan ?.. ?kerana kerajaan negeri tiada kena mengena dengan risalah itu.?
Mungkin benar mungkin tidak! , kerajaan negeri tiada kena mengena dengan risalah itu. Sdra/I wartawan boleh fikir sendiri.
Siapakah itu arts-ED? Art-ED adalah sebuah NGO yang diketuai oleh Janet Pillai. Janet Pillai adalah seorang pensyarah di Pusat Pengajian Seni, USM.
Walaubagaimanapun sebagai NGO, arts-ED adalah sebuah agensi yang mempunyai kaitan langsung dengan SERI. Dalam laman sesawang (web-site) arts-ED, dijelaskan bahawa organisasinya adalah ? we are led by executive committee under the secretariat of Sosio-Economic & Environmental Research (SERI) Penang?.
Apakah pula kaitannnya dengan kerajaan negeri? Daripada laman sesawang SERI ? Think Tank For the State of Penang, Team Member (updated 4 February 2010) Board of Directors antaranya adalah YB DCM II Prof. Dr. Ramasamy a/l Palanisamy, YB Liew Chin Tong dan lain-lain.
Akhir sekali, saya tetap dengan padangan saya, hasil dari bacaan saya, bahawa Balik Pulau adalah dibuka oleh Lebai Tampak dan rombongannya, melainkan saya dibuktikan oleh para sejarahwan sebaliknya dan bukannya seperti yang dituliskan dalam risalah berkaitan.
Saya juga berpandangan bahawa ada ayat-ayat yang digunakan dalam risalah myBalik Pulau boleh dianggap menghina orang Melayu diBalik Pulau. Tidak sesekali saya berniat untuk menimbul rasa benci, melainkan membetulkan pernyataan/makluman yang tidak tepat.
SEMOGA PENJELASAN DIATAS DAPAT MEMBERIKAN GAMBARAN SEBENAR KEPADA ISU BERKAITAN.

So he lost face when a video showed his brute methods.He had to apologise and now he wants us all to eat indoors cos he wants us to emulate him the good little boy who goes home every night to eat his mamas quaker oats.
I want to ask him to go fly kite and stick a pacifier in his mouth.Send him out of Penang island with some nappies and his smelly blanket for bawling like a baby and inconveniencing us diners.
As we all know the Rapid bus drivers on Chulia Street treat the road as a racing track.Many a times I have seen pedestrians almost knocked down,and cars swerving to avoid a head on collision with these road bullies.Herding everyone indoors won't solve the problem.
There are more than 3 roads if they really want to find fault.In fact they should strip the entire Batu Ferringhi night market and al fresco dining street too since the traders force pedestrians to endanger their lives by walking onto the roads.Let's see...there's also the back of Gurney Plaza to consider,Tanjong Tokong,Fettes Park,Kimberley Street,Pulau Tikus,and so much more.
Read the brainless brainchilds idea of how he wants to reform Penang into a great plastic Singapore style farce of a gluttons paradise.

Eating And Living On The Edge (Zalinah Noordin)

The Penang Municipal Council (MPPP)will take to court stubborn operators of restaurant and eateries who still place tables and chairs outside their premises in Georgetown for alfresco dining.
MPPP councillor Ong Ah Teong said the council would resort to court action if operators persisted in providing open air dining despite the RM250 compound.
He said the errant operators would be hauled to court under the Road Safety and Public Order Act.
The council had identified such eateries which cause traffic obstruction and possibly accidents on Chulia Street,Batu Maung and Sungai Pinang.
They will normally place their tables and chairs by the roadside on weekends and on public holidays from about 5pm onwards to midnight,he said in an interview.
He said the MPPP had identified three cafes on Chulia Street which had continued to place tables and chairs outside despite repeated reminders from the MPPP for them not to do so.
We've been issuing compounds under the Hygiene and Public Safety Act which carries a RM250 fine,he said.
If they still persist,we will take the operators to court and also seize their tables and chairs and other items that cause obstruction,he said.
He said that the compounds should be issued under Section 46 of the Drainage and Building Act 1974 which carries a RM50 fine but the amount was not taken seriously by most operators.

Things just don't seem to get any better.Now traffic policemen have been spotted making their rounds and giving 'verbal advice' to Nasi Kandar owners to NOT place tables even on small neighbourhood lanes that end in cul de sacs for crying out loud with minimal traffic flow.
Because of one skirmish in which tempers flared and men being the barbarians that they are when their neurons get a little heated,we the Penangites who know how to side step,put up with inconveniences and pollution,hygiene issues and so on so forth are now being forced to dine indoors like a herd of buffaloes.
YB Ng,somehow your apology seems to be only for show right?Like window dressing.
It is as if you have a personal vendetta against ALL these operators over your ONE fiasco and now you set out to deprive US the customers who like to dine under the stars?
Some might remind me that it is the incident of the accident where the car ploughed into the diners that started the ball rolling.
Well if that is the case,you might as well make all roads and highways one way too,so there is no chance head on collisions as well.Issue a directive for all motorcyclists to wear sumo suits while they are driving and pad all buildings,trees and road railings with foam so that no one will crash into any them.If that isn't safe enough make all buildings and housing estates roadless.Park your car 2 kilometres away and walk there.Ridiculous right?
Some might argue that the traffic policemen,do not report to those up in the clouds at Komtar,but they do like to dine outdoors too right?
So thanks very much for adding more thorns to our already cactus butt YB,no one's gonna help you pull the big splinter out of your toe.You need to attach your big splinter to a gas canister and throw it out from your office window to do the job for you.

Aidil Adha in Penang

Anybody noticed that not many mamak,muslim,malay shops were open for business during this festival .If you wanted a bite you had to trawl high and low to locate one.
$#@%! No roti canai,no teh tarik,no kuih,no rojak,no nasi kandar,no pisang goreng,no cucur,no karipap,no mee goreng,no malay tomyam,no nasi campur .$#@%!
It was as if it were the main festival of Hari Raya itself.
We finally found one Kandar open in Jalan Dato Keramat.
It was as if our muslim brothers were forced into observing a day of abstinence from doing business in respect of the holy festival.
Is there some decree issued by the religious council?Are Penang food outlets influenced by a Pas led state of affairs sanctioned by Pakatan?No,I am not for BN either but at least they have the common sense not to frighten?food operators this way?
I know I am nobody to comment on this but this didn't happen last year.Why now?

the idiocy of this entire conversation gets even worse on my "Penang Where Not To Eat" facebook discussion page when another blogger who at first pretends to be a mere reader,joins in the fray.
Please excuse me if I may sound like a moron at most parts of the conversation.Sometimes we need to speakatheirlinguistico just to hammer the message into them once and for all.
Moral of the story?
Every blogger thinks their readers are dumb cos deep down they know that nobody reads their stuff except for other bloggers.Actually they (proof )read each others stuff so they can steal ideas from one another which makes them not only liars but thieves too hence briefly explaining the uprising of the Uncivil War that they have got going on today in cyberspace.
If the readers can string two sentences together in reply, it must mean that they are smart....not just the normal smart set they must be abnormally smart bloggers,
normal readers are just too darned plain stupid or suffer from finger rigor mortis to care to argue back.
And just in case you didn't know already...I am not a blogger.
This is a public service from me to other diners.
And to all you bloggers out there whom I have blocked ,asked to get lost ,repeatedly ignored,but can't seem to stop dropping in here to read(why hah?), please go eat more Iron pills then iron your face out on an ironing board so you feel ultra ironic over the above statement.

This is a transcript lifted from the Penang Where Not To Eat facebook Discussion page under Pesky Food Bloggers Topic.It happened today and it's up to you to decide if I was harsh in asking him to go fly kite.Or a brat for being absolutely rude in my replies back to him.
I plucked out todays excerpt.
Wai Hoe Kellaw( an occasional food blogger) had just joined the page and I was replying to his posts when Vkeong decided to butt in.I found it extremely annoying bcos I did not want to be dragged into a bloggers war.
There are bloggers that are trying to distance themselves from me,and they do it by dissing me on forums and other methods which you may unravel as you trawl the net bcos they are being ostracised by their own kind who are casting a suspicious eye on them,thinking that they the popular bloggers are me.
As a result the day ended in me unliking him from my facebook and him unliking the page in retaliation.
That was pure childish spur of the moment action on my part,which isn't something I will be proud of.I will remember his kind wishes at the end which I have highlighted.
Oh well,life goes on.
Please go to facebook n see for yourselves.if it's not there then u may always refer back here.
And oh vkeong if you are reading this,with me posting this up,you can now rest in your laurels,safe that you won't get sidelined by your 'beloved' bloggers community no more since I have openly dissed you.

well if you read my blog you will find i screw food and events which are real bad... i used to be real popular for good reasons till i screw a nokia event and i became the center of attraction on twitter and blogs for the wrong reasons...I remain anon so i could actually observe better.. the owners tends to treat you better if they know.. and that is where at times the bloggers themselves get cheated by the owners which in turn writes to some how cheat the readers... get what i mean? at times it's not the bloggers fault because they were cheated too. i feel i am responsible to my readers too so i stand up for how i felt despite being criticized
